Highly accurate and repeatable method of processing.   Suitable for most materials and applications from small intricate components to large die moulds.   Well suited for Additive manufactured components.

Plasma processing

Controllable and flexible surface treatment, which can economically improve the performance of a variety of components.   Suitable for ferrous materials as well as stainless and Inconels.

Vacuum Process

Utilising Nitrogen or Argon as the process gas with the option of high pressure quench our Vacuum furnaces also offer High Vacuum processing.   This is a very clean process that completely minimises any distortion.   Vacuum and High Vacuum processing is ideal for Additive Manufactured parts.

Furnace and process data is accurately logged, saved, backed up and is available when needed.   As with some industry sectors, this can be decades later.   Process conformity certificates and furnace charts are also available as e-docs..

Capabilities

High vacuum processing available.   High pressure quench using Nitrogen or Argon also available.
Temperatures up to 1250°c.   Full traceability with Certificates and furnace charts available as e-docs.

Capacity

We have a range of top loading and front loading Vacuum furnaces.
With maximum capacity of 1200 x 600 x 500 mm.   Maximum load is 600 Kg.

Materials

We regularly process many materials including:   Inconel;   Titanium;   Stainless;   Aluminium;   Tool Steels;   High Speed Steels;   other Alloys; some composites aswell as polymer based materials.

Processes

We regularly carry out many processes including: Solution Treatment;   Age;   Harden and Temper;   Anneal;   Stress relieving;   High Vacuum processes.

Plasma Process

Plasma Ion Nitride is a Controllable and flexible surface treatment, which can economically improve the performance of a variety of components.   Suitable for ferrous materials as well as stainless steels and inconel

Nitrocarburising in plasma with subsequent oxidation treatment (PlasOx) influences work piece properties, specifically with regard to corrosion resistance, wear resistance and anti-frictional properties.   The oxidisation is controlled to avoid rusting and produce pure magnetite which is highly corrosion resistant.

Furnaces

Our vertical Plasma chambers carry out the Ion Nitride process and the Nitro-Carburise (+Oxidation) process, known as PlasOx which produces the aesthetically pleasing black finish. See images.

Capacity

Maximum dimensional capcity is 850 mm Tall x 550 mm Diameter.
Total load capacity approx. 850Kg.

Management

Temperature range is 480° - 550°
Process gases are Hydrogen and Nitrogen.

Quality

We operate a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of EN 9100:2018 (technically equivalent to AS9100D and JISQ 9100:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 and is assessed in accordance with EN 9104-001:2013.   We are assessed by BSI.

    some saltbath processes on reduced hours.
  • Minimum staff on-site.
  • New hours of business: Mon - Fri   08:00 - 17:00
  • Last deliveries accepted: 15:45

General

  • We are not based in one of the current high-risk areas.
  • We are not dependent upon raw material or component supply from one of the high-risk areas or countries.

On-site

  • Clear signage and floor markings to enable visitors and staff to keep 2 metre distance.
  • Hand sanitiser stationed at key locations, available to all visitors, customers and staff.
  • Antibacterial hand wash is provided in all restrooms and WC.
  • NHS approved hygeine signs are displayed in strategic places.
  • Staff informed of need for regular hand washing and also symptoms to be aware of.
  • We are not currently planning closure of our site although we review this policy on a daily basis.

Off-site

  • THT drivers carry Hand sanitiser in their vehicles and masks are available if needed when visiting others’ premises.
  • Customers do not need to sign for goods. Recipients name will suffice.

We review this policy daily by following advice on the government website.
